About the School of Social Work
The Simmons School of Social Work (SSW), founded in 1904 as a joint venture with Harvard University, was the nation’s first institute of higher learning to train clinical social workers. Today, the school has expanded to include several departments, including the Department of Behavior Analysis. Our nationally accredited and acclaimed programs provide students with hands-on experience that integrates education and practice with social justice values, multicultural perspectives, and a strong emphasis on field education.
Beyond preparing for the examination, Simmons prepares graduates to make a lasting, positive impact on others’ lives in a variety of settings including homes, schools, hospital settings, and the workplace.
