What is the online learning experience like?
Communications@Simmons uses a blend of live, online classes and self-paced content to ensure a high-quality learning experience and full mastery of the curriculum. Our unique approach to online learning has contributed to the success of graduates from our online nursing, social work, behavior analysis, MBA, and Health Care MBA programs.
What are live class sessions like?
Through our innovative online learning platform, students are able to earn their Master of Strategic Communications from Simmons College from any place with an Internet connection. As a student, you will participate in weekly, live classes hosted face-to-face in our interactive online classroom. Classes are led by our expert faculty, who bring real-world communications experience into the classroom. The live format encourages collaboration and connections with classmates and faculty, allowing students to forge real and lasting relationships.
How is the coursework delivered?
Course content is developed by Simmons’ expert faculty, who are communications and business professionals who bring practical experience into the classroom. Our content is designed from the ground up in order to provide a rich online learning experience. Students engage with documentary-style videos, case studies, readings, and written and video assignments, which can be accessed at any time, giving you the ability to work at your own pace.
Will my diploma indicate that I earned my degree online?
No. Your diploma will state that you earned a Master of Strategic Communications from Simmons College.

Is Communications@Simmons an accredited program?
Simmons College is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). First accredited in 1929, the college was last reaccredited in April 2011.
What is the student-to-faculty ratio?
Classes generally consist of approximately 15 students. This is to ensure that each student can develop close, personal connections with classmates and professors.
How many credits are required to complete the program?
Students are required to complete 32 credits of coursework to graduate from this program. This program consists of five 11-week terms.
How long does the program take to complete?
The program can be completed in as few as 15 months by taking two courses per term.
Is the online program available full time and part time?

Yes. Communications@Simmons is designed to fit the busy lives of working professionals. Its convenient online format enables students to earn an advanced degree while managing their personal and professional commitments.
Will I be required to visit Boston during my time in the program?
Yes. Students are required to complete one immersion during their time in the program, which takes place on the Simmons campus in Boston. Additionally, students are invited to come to Boston for graduation.

What type of support does Simmons provide for its students?

As a student in our online program, you will receive a dedicated Admissions Counselor, who will work with you one-on-one throughout the admissions process to answer any questions you may have about the program.
Once you are admitted, you will work directly with our student support team. Our student support specialists will help you acclimate to the virtual campus, provide technical support, and assist with registration each term. You will also be assigned an academic advisor who will help ensure you are meeting your academic goals.

Do I need to hold a particular undergraduate degree to be eligible for the program?
No. While applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, the type of degree earned does not impact your eligibility for the program.
Are standardized test scores required to apply?
No. Applicants can submit GRE or GMAT scores if they choose, but these scores are not required for admission to the program.
Do I need to complete an interview?
An interview is not required; however, the Admissions Committee may request an evaluative interview upon review of your completed application. This interview is conducted through our online learning platform.
I'm not a U.S. resident. Can I apply?
No. The Communications@Simmons program is only open to U.S. residents who currently reside in the United States.
