  • Balance Your Degree with Work and Life — Advance your nursing career by completing your MSN-DNP on a part-time basis over 32–36 months, or your BSN-DNP over 48 months. 
  • Advance in Nurse Leadership — Learn from experienced professors-of-practice and join a legacy of more than 125 years developing nursing leadership and excellence.
  • Learn in a Practice-Based Program — Pursue a DNP that offers hands-on experience, conduct in-clinic research, and learn to design and assess care.

The innovative Nursing@Simmons online DNP programs are developed to prepare nurse leaders to take on the greatest challenges of today’s changing health care landscape. Our BSN-DNP program, designed for those who have earned their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), equips you with the clinical expertise and leadership skills you need to excel in advanced practice and executive roles and enables you to earn your Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Leadership on the way to earning a DNP. Our MSN-DNP program is designed for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who hold an MSN degree and clinical license,2 and nurse managers who hold an MSN degree and leadership license.3

  • Choose a track that aligns with your interests and experience. 
  • Complete a research- or practice-based final project.

Both pathways offer the following DNP tracks: DNP, Executive Leadership; DNP, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); and DNP, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The FNP and PMHNP tracks will prepare you to sit for the ANCC or AANP Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certification exam, while the Executive Leadership track will prepare you prepare you to advance to the highest level of professional nursing practice — and to drive meaningful change in health care systems as a nurse leader.
