Applying to Simmons’ Online MPH Program

Our online Master of Public Health program is designed for driven professionals who want to promote health equity among communities at local, national, and global levels.

We offer two program options — traditional or accelerated — both including the same 45-credit curriculum committed to health equity and social justice, with different course loads per term and times to complete.

Traditional Master’s Program

  • Designed for aspiring and rising public health professionals
  • Complete in as few as 21 months
  • Complete 45 credits across seven 11-week terms
  • Permitted to work during the program — most students work full time but scale back or find some flexibility with their employer when they begin their Health Equity Change Project

Accelerated Master’s Program

  • Designed for highly motivated students who can dedicate themselves to their degree on a full-time basis
  • Complete in as few as 12 months
  • Complete 45 credits across four 11-week terms
  • Not permitted to work/be employed during the program

To be considered for admission, applicants must have completed:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • At least one college-level math course (statistics preferred) with a course grade of B or higher

Factors such as work experience, volunteer endeavors, and undergraduate coursework in health or social sciences, while not required for acceptance into the program, can add value to an application.

Our admission committee reviews applications holistically, evaluating each candidate’s ability, aptitude, and potential for academic success in the program and professional success upon graduation. For this reason, GRE scores are not required to apply.

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Current résumé
  • Application essay
  • Transcripts from all postsecondary institutions
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores, if applicable
  • Nonrefundable application fee of $75
