NURSING@SIMMONS

Nursing@Simmons offers two online Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) programs that prepare licensed nurses to expand their scope of practice and advance their careers. 

The online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-PMHNP) is designed for licensed registered nurses (RNs) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing. This program equips students to become an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and pursue board certification as a PMHNP.

The online Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is designed for licensed, certified APRNs with a graduate degree in nursing (MSN or DNP). This program equips students to pursue board certification as a PMHNP.

Three start dates are offered throughout the year, and admission is conducted on a rolling basis. The start dates are the same for the MSN and post-graduate certificate program.

A $50 nonrefundable application fee is required to apply to Nursing@Simmons. Those who apply before the priority application deadline will receive a reduced application fee of $30.

Application fee waivers are available for applicants affiliated with non-profit organizations such as: City Year, AmeriCorps, Peace Corps and Teach for America, and military personnel, veterans, and their spouses. Please contact your admission counselor to request instructions for obtaining the fee waiver.
