Online Master of Science in Behavior Analysis
Final Application Deadline July 31
Our faculty of established practitioners are committed to building strong relationships with students to help you learn how to assess behavior, communicate effectively, and achieve success in your career. Since the rise of behavior analytic professions and the launch of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®) 20 years ago, Simmons has been a leader in the field through its dedication to behavior analysis coursework and research.
Our online master’s program meets the BACB experience standards — meaning students in the program will complete the hours of mentoring and supervision required to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) exam.
Mentoring and Supervision-Based Curriculum
Through a focus on both individual and group mentoring, our rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum prepares students to apply advanced behavior analysis principles through hands-on learning. The mentorship component of the program ensures that students gain the support, real-life experience, and individual feedback they need to become effective practitioners. Learn more about Simmons’ mentoring and supervision component.
The BehaviorAnalysis@Simmons course sequence meets the BACB’s coursework eligibility requirements.
In 2022, the supervised fieldwork requirements for those wishing to take the BCBA® exam will be changing. Depending on when you start the Simmons program, your experience hours and time to complete may vary:
- September 2019 Cohort — students beginning classes with the September 2019 cohort will complete supervision under the current Intensive Practicum model, consisting of 750 hours of supervision and mentoring in the field. Under this model, students will complete 40 credits and can complete the program in as few as 19 months.
- January 2020 and Later Cohorts — students beginning classes with or after the January 2020 cohort will complete supervision under the new BCBA fieldwork requirements. Students will complete a total of 2,000 supervised fieldwork hours and 42 total credits for the master’s degree and can finish the program in as few as 21 months.
Regardless of when students start the program and the fieldwork model completed, students will graduate with the necessary coursework and experience requirements needed to sit for the BCBA exam.
